The administration warns Kirov residents about a new scheme of fraud involving "medal presentations."
Residents of Kirov have been warned about a new scheme of telephone fraud. Unknown individuals are calling citizens from mobile numbers and claiming that they have supposedly been awarded various prizes.
As reported by the Kirov administration, the fraudsters mention office numbers where one can supposedly receive a medal or offer to deliver the prize via a courier. Authorities emphasize that their employees do not inform citizens about the awarding of prizes from personal phones and do not deliver awards through courier services.
If during the conversation the caller introduces themselves as an employee of the administration, it is advisable to ask them to state their position and department, and then end the conversation. The information received can be verified by calling the city administration using official phone numbers. It is also advisable to report any suspicious calls to the police.
In Kirov, a pensioner was saved from losing 300,000 rubles. The police detained a courier who took 4 million from a pensioner in Sovetsk. "Every penny will go to fund the Armed Forces of Ukraine": a Kirov resident received threats after being added to a housing chat.
