In the Kirov region, the court issued a verdict in a case of illegal logging. The defendant is a 62-year-old man living in the Podosиновский district. In early 2024, he conducted logging in the territory of the Podosиновский rural district forestry without the appropriate permit.
The materials of the criminal case reviewed in court indicate that the actions of the logger caused damage to the forest fund of the Russian Federation, which exceeded 430,000 rubles. The state prosecution on this matter was supported by the Podosиновский district prosecutor's office, qualifying the incident under part 3 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal logging of forest plantations).
In the courtroom, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. Moreover, he took a step that played a decisive role in determining the penalty: the man voluntarily transferred the entire amount of damage caused to the state even before the judge announced the final decision.
Considering the full admission of guilt and the fact of voluntary compensation for the damage, the court agreed with the position of the state prosecutor. As a punishment, the defendant was fined 300,000 rubles.
