A Kirov resident "bought" a mirror for his car but ended up without money and the part.
The Kirov City Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia received a statement from a 42-year-old local resident. The car enthusiast reported that three weeks ago he was looking for a rearview mirror for his car on one of the online platforms. A suitable option was found quickly, and he contacted the author of the ad. The seller agreed to send the item but set a condition — full prepayment. The buyer transferred 37,000 rubles to a bank card, but the spare part did not arrive by the agreed deadline. When the Kirov resident tried to clarify the delivery details, his interlocutor stopped responding. A criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact. Currently, the police are establishing the identity of the suspect. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds: when making remote purchases, one should not rush to transfer money to unfamiliar people. Many ad sites have a section for safe transactions, where the platform acts as an intermediary and guarantees the fulfillment of obligations by both parties. Using such a mechanism helps minimize the risks of becoming a victim of fraud.
