There are fewer gender biases in the labor market.
The study showed that today, informal preferences regarding the marital status of women exist in 19% of companies. When hiring men, this factor is considered half as often — in only 9% of organizations.
Employers most often prefer candidates who are married and have children. This approach is used by 8% of companies when hiring women and 7% when selecting men. In second place are applicants without families and children: they are preferred by 6% of employers when searching for female employees and 2% when looking for male employees.
At the same time, the number of companies avoiding the hiring of women with a specific marital status continues to decrease. Currently, such restrictions remain in 9% of organizations. For comparison: in 2025, there were 10% of such employers, and in 2010, there were as many as 36%.
Men face such prejudices even less frequently. Informal restrictions on their employment apply in only 4% of companies. A year ago, this figure was 6%, and 16 years ago — 14%.
The most vulnerable category of applicants remains married women without children. Employers are most often cautious towards them: such prejudices persist in about every twentieth company.
