A drunk driver from Kirov will pay 339 thousand for the air ambulance flight for the woman who was hit.
The prosecutor's office of the Lenin district conducted an inspection regarding budget expenditures for providing medical assistance to a victim of a traffic accident. The incident occurred on September 21, 2024.
The driver of the Nissan Almera, who was in a state of intoxication, was reversing, did not ensure the safety of the maneuver, and hit a pedestrian. The woman sustained serious injuries: fractures of her limbs and ribs, and a head injury.
To save the victim, air ambulance services were involved — the woman was urgently transported to the Center for Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery. The evacuation was carried out as part of the national project "Healthcare."
The driver was found guilty under part 2 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. However, the issue of reimbursement for the costs incurred for the helicopter's flight time had not been resolved. The prosecutor of the Lenin district filed a lawsuit to recover the expenses incurred.
The court granted the claims — the offender was ordered to pay 339,000 rubles. Control over the execution of the decision has been organized.
