In the Kirov region, more than 160 wolves have been shot.
In the Kirov region, efforts continue to reduce the number of wolves. State inspectors, hunting users, and local hunters are monitoring the situation in the districts. If information arises about predators approaching populated areas, special measures are organized. As reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the region, since the beginning of the year, over 160 wolves have already been hunted in the forests of the region.
One of the latest incidents occurred in June in the Malmyzh district. There, in publicly accessible hunting grounds, another gray predator was hunted during a bear hunt.
As of the first half of the year, the most wolves were hunted in the Afanasyevsky district — 21. In second place is the Luzsky district with 16 predators, and in third place is the Bogorodsky district, where 10 wolves were hunted.
Authorities note that regulating the wolf population is necessary to reduce the threat to residents and domestic animals, especially in areas where predators approach populated areas.
