In the Kirov region, more than 20 moose were hit in a month.
According to the agency, 22 traffic accidents involving moose and two involving hares were registered in a month. As a result of one of the incidents, a person was injured.
The accidents occurred in the territories of the Arbazhsky, Verkhoshizhemsky, Vyatskopolyansky, Kilmizsky, Kirovochepetsky, Kumensky, Orlovsky, Slobodsky, Soviet, Shabalinsky, Yuryansky, and Yaran districts.
The ministry reminded that from April to September, the risk of collisions with wild animals significantly increases. This is related to seasonal migration and the dispersal of young animals. The most dangerous times remain the evening and night hours when visibility worsens and animals become more active.
Drivers are advised to adhere to speed limits, use high beams in the absence of oncoming traffic, pay attention to the "Wild Animals" road sign, and not to honk if an animal is on the roadside. Instead, it is better to reduce speed or stop to give the animal a chance to leave the roadway.
