A new GOST for the height of beer foam has been approved in Russia.

      A new GOST regulating the requirements for beer beverages has come into force in Russia. The document provides for changes to a number of indicators, including the characteristics of beer foam.

      According to "Izvestia," the minimum height of the foam must now be 15 mm, and its stability must be at least one minute. Previously, the foam had to be no less than 30 mm and last for three minutes.

      Separate standards have been established for non-alcoholic beer beverages and products with added juice. In these cases, the minimum height of the foam must be 20 mm, and the foam stability must be at least one minute.

      In addition, the new standard defines acceptable deviations in the content of ethyl alcohol. For all types of beer beverages, except for non-alcoholic ones, the actual strength may differ from the manufacturer's stated value by no more than 0.5% in either direction.
