The inmates of Kirov's SIZO-2 went to the Employment Center for job vacancies.
In the pre-trial detention center No. 2 in Kirov, they decided not to wait for the convicted individuals to be released and start looking for work from scratch. Two of them received a short-term exit to familiarize themselves with the labor market in advance. The destination was the Employment Center of the Kirov region.
Usually, former inmates think about employment only after their release, wasting precious time. This time, the administration of the detention center took a different approach — they sent future job seekers to the employment exchange even before they left the pre-trial detention center. Specialists from the center studied their education, learned about their professional skills, and selected job vacancies tailored to each individual.
As explained by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service, when choosing offers, they considered the level of training of the specific convicts to ensure that the information was as useful and applicable as possible. Now these two individuals have not just an abstract hope for employment, but concrete guidelines on where they can turn immediately after their release.
The deputy head of pre-trial detention center No. 2, Viktor Smolnikov, noted that such practices are part of a systematic effort to prepare convicts for reintegration into society. According to him, when issues related to work and housing are resolved in advance, it significantly reduces the likelihood of reoffending and helps former inmates adapt to normal life more quickly.
The administration of pre-trial detention center No. 2 organized the exit in strict accordance with the law — all procedures were followed, and the rights of the convicts were not violated.
The Kirov Federal Penitentiary Service plans to continue such exits in the future and to actively involve not only employment centers but also employers directly in this work. The agency is confident that even one visit to the employment exchange before release can seriously change a person's life after they regain their freedom.
