The coach of Kirov's "Yunost," Viktor Khvostikov, has passed away.
The KOGAU DO "SSHOR 'Yunost'" confirmed the information about the passing of an employee. Viktor Ivanovich Khvostikov, a coach and instructor in kyokushinkai, passed away on June 25, 2026.
Viktor Ivanovich's career represents an entire era in the development of martial arts in the Vyatka region. Almost his entire professional biography was dedicated to coaching, and over these decades he raised not just individual athletes, but several generations of athletes whom he brought to the level of high-class masters. His departure was a serious blow to "Yunost," as he was one of the key figures within the school, determining the continuity of generations.
Colleagues who worked alongside him share their memories. Khvostikov was characterized as an outstanding professional who knew his craft inside and out. His colleagues particularly noted his principled nature: he belonged to that rare breed of people who never compromised their conscience and always expressed their position honestly, even when it was difficult. However, behind his outward toughness and straightforward judgments lay a tender, vulnerable soul—a quality that only the closest like-minded individuals could discern.
The administration and the entire coaching staff of the sports school express their sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased. The bright memory of Viktor Ivanovich Khvostikov will forever remain in the hearts of his students and all those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this extraordinary and dedicated individual.
Earlier, on June 26, we reported the passing of the senior coach of the regional hapkido federation, Maria Koryakina.
The editorial team of Newsler.ru extends its condolences to the family and friends of the mentors.
