The Vyatka sharply "went up" due to rain floods.
In the Telegram channel "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov," it was reported about a sharp rise in the water level in the Vyatka River near the regional center. The reason is the rain floods that have replaced the prolonged summer low water period. According to the hydrological post, the water level in the river began to rise in the second half of June. By June 26, it had increased from minimal marks of about -100 cm (relative to the zero mark of the hydrological post) to -45...-50 cm. Throughout most of June, the actual water level was below average values, indicating a low-water hydrological situation. The short-term rise at the beginning of the month was associated with the rains that had occurred, but then the level began to decline again. The current wave of rise, according to the channel's authors, has the same nature — the influence of rain floods against the backdrop of an established summer regime. Earlier, we reported that over the past day, the water level in the Cheptsa River rose by 45 centimeters and reached a mark of 108.95 meters from zero according to the Baltic height system. Part of the floating bridge was flooded, and traffic on it was completely closed on June 24.
