Spinal injury on a day off: The State Labor Inspection found violations
In the Omutninsky district, an accident occurred involving an employee of LLC "Onyx." On his day off, the man decided to collect sawdust for his personal needs. He climbed a ladder and attempted to step onto the side of a vehicle, but his foot slipped. The worker fell to the ground, hitting his head, and as a result, sustained a spinal injury.
The commission established at the enterprise classified the incident as an accident not related to production. The cause was attributed to the worker's own carelessness while stepping from the ladder onto the vehicle.
However, during the investigation, the State Labor Inspectorate in the Kirov region established other circumstances. As explained by the Deputy Head of the Labor Inspectorate A. D. Loginov, these do not relate to the cause of the fall itself but indicate violations of occupational safety regulations by the employer.
In particular, the management of LLC "Onyx" did not provide protective barriers for the stationary ladder platform for heights of at least 1.1 meters. Additionally, training and knowledge checks on occupational safety for the worker were conducted by a commission that did not have the authority to do so. The employer also failed to provide the employee with personal protective equipment.

An accident involving an employee of LLC "Onyx" in the Omutninsky district resulted in a serious injury, but the commission ruled it was not work-related — the man was engaged in personal matters on his day off. However, during the investigation, labor inspectors identified three violations of labor protection by the employer, which were not the cause of the fall.
