Parents of children with disabilities in the Kirov region were paid for 12,500 additional days off.
Parents, guardians, and caregivers of children with disabilities are entitled to four additional paid days each month. Each such day is compensated based on the average earnings of the working parent. This measure allows for more time to be devoted to the care and rehabilitation of the child without a loss in family income.
An important feature is the ability to accumulate days. If the days off are not used throughout the year, they can be combined and taken as a full vacation of up to 24 consecutive days. However, this schedule must be agreed upon in advance with the employer.
If both parents are officially employed, they have the right to divide the four days between themselves at their discretion. Accumulated days do not carry over to the next year and are not replaced by monetary compensation.
To apply for the benefit, it is necessary to submit an application to the employer, attaching documents regarding the child's disability and a certificate from the other parent's workplace stating that the additional days off have not been used or have been partially used in the current month.
