Kirov residents collected hazardous waste.
In the Primorsky District, a specialized organization received about 200 kg of fluorescent lamps. As reported by the city administration, after the necessary volume is formed, all collected lamps are transferred to a licensed organization authorized to transport and dispose of them.
The city hall reminded that mercury-containing lamps are classified as hazardous waste. Improper storage or disposal can pose a threat to the environment and human health. Therefore, such waste requires special procedures for collection, storage, and recycling.
It should be noted that in the private sector, the territorial administration accepts mercury-containing lamps, thermometers, and used batteries, while in apartment buildings, collection should be carried out by management companies.
