In the Kirov region, seasonal measurements of solid waste accumulation have begun. The work is being carried out by a special working group under the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the region.
The group includes representatives from the Public Chamber, local government bodies, the regional environmental protection center, and the regional operator AO "Kuprit". In addition, specialists from the Russian Environmental Operator will monitor the measurement process at the federal level.
The first measurements have already started in Kirov and the village of Pasegovo. There, specialists are checking container sites both at apartment buildings and in the private sector.
During the measurements, video recording is conducted, and all information is entered into the federal waste accounting system. However, waste that does not relate to solid waste—such as branches, construction debris, or old tires—will not be included in the calculations.
In the near future, measurements will also take place in Kirovo-Chepetsk, Vyatskie Polyany, Zuevka, Kirs, Sovetsk, the villages of Leninskoye and Suna, as well as in the Slobodsky district.
