      In the Kirov region, operatives of the FSB completed the development of a local resident who, according to the agency, was part of an organized crime group operating in several regions. The main focus of the group's activities was the illegal sale of narcotic substances using the capabilities of the global network.

      During the operational-search activities, the suspect was caught red-handed. At the time of the arrest, synthetic narcotic substances weighing more than one and a half kilograms were seized from him. The FSB emphasizes that this batch was already prepared for further distribution.

      A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee by the investigative department of the FSB of Russia for the Kirov region. The legal qualification of the actions is provided for in part 3 of article 30 and part 5 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sale of narcotics in especially large quantities, committed as part of an organized group).

      The agency's press service reminds that the sanction of this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment of up to 15 years of imprisonment for the guilty. The investigation of the criminal case continues, and all circumstances of the illegal activities of the detainee and his connections with other participants in the criminal scheme are being established.
