Lightning struck the temple: a shrine was damaged in the Kirov region.
According to parishioners, the incident occurred on June 18 during a powerful storm. A lightning strike hit the meter installed on a pole on the church grounds. The impact was so strong that the damage affected not only the external equipment but also the church itself. This was reported by the local newspaper "Iskra."
As the believers recounted, the meter in the building was completely burned out, the wiring was damaged, and the sockets and switches melted. Additionally, due to the voltage surge, all lighting fixtures were blown out.
The elements also damaged the church's bell tower, which is considered one of the local shrines.
Despite the consequences of the lightning strike, there are no plans to cancel the services. The next service is scheduled for June 28, but it will take place without electricity — only by the light of lamps and candles.
