The Kirov Youth Theater's performance received the "Golden Mask."
The award ceremony took place in Omsk on June 20. The winner in the special nomination was announced on stage. The Kirov production became the only laureate in this category. The award was granted based on the results of the 2025–2026 season. Information about the victory appeared in the official group of the theater.
The play "Red. Honest. In Love" (6+) is based on the story by Swedish writer Jan Ulof Ekholm. The plot centers around the story of the fox cub Ludwig the Fourteenth, who does not want to live by the laws of cunning and deceit accepted in the fox family. The hero strives to be honest and fair, and his friendship with the chick Tutta Karlsson helps overcome prejudices and enmity between the two worlds.
The director is Kirill Zaborikhin, the artist is Ulyana Yeryomina, the video artist is Nikolai Potapov, the composer and musical director is Andrey Shoshkin, and the choreographer is Irina Brezhneva.
The main roles are played by Grigory Bessonov, Konstantin Kochnev, Nina Chernysheva, and other theater artists.
In the next season, another production from the theater on Spasskaya has been submitted for the "Golden Mask" award - "The Idiot" (16+).
The "Golden Mask" is the Russian National Theater Award, established in 1993. It is awarded for achievements in drama theater, opera, ballet, operetta, musical, puppet theater, and other genres.
