The Bank of Russia has lowered the key rate to 14.25%.
Today, June 19, the Bank of Russia decided to lower the key rate by 25 basis points to 14.25% per annum. The next meeting on the key rate will take place on July 24, 2026. Further decisions will depend on the sustainability of the inflation slowdown, the dynamics of inflation expectations, and internal and external risks. According to the Bank of Russia's forecast, taking into account the monetary policy being conducted, annual inflation will decrease to 4.5-5.5% in 2026. The regulator also noted in its release that economic growth, after a decline at the beginning of the year, continues at a moderate pace. At the same time, consumer demand growth has accelerated. Investment activity, after cooling at the beginning of the year, has increased slightly but remains restrained. As for the labor market, tension continues to decrease, but at a slower pace than before.
