      Площадь лесов в Кировской области превышает 8 миллионов гектаров, что составляет 63% от всей территории региона, сообщили в правительстве области. Среди субъектов европейской части России по запасам древесины наш регион занимает 5-е место. На территории области в долгосрочное пользование передано 822 лесных участка общей площадью более 5 миллионов гектаров. Основным направлением использования лесов является заготовка древесины, для чего подписано 719 договоров аренды. В 2025 году на аукционах было реализовано 396 тыс. куб. м., в 2026 году планируется выставить около 600 тыс. куб. м. Также зарегистрирован рост налоговых поступлений от лесозаготовки и переработки древесины. Работы по лесоустройству продолжаются в Лузском, Мурашинском и Опаринском лесничествах, общая площадь которых составляет более 343 тыс. га.
