Today, June 19, the draw for the National Cup in football (Path of the Regions) took place. As in the previous year, two teams from the Kirov region will participate – "Fankom" and "Dynamo."
Fankom's opponent in the first round will be "BoMiK" (Tsivilsk). This is one of the strongest clubs in Chuvashia, currently leading the PFO championship. The winner of this match will play against Kirov's "Dynamo."
In the last edition of the Cup, Fankom reached the 4th round of the Path of the Regions. Initially, they advanced without a match against Kazan's "Sokol" - the match did not take place due to the withdrawal of the club from Tatarstan from the tournament, and then they won in penalty shootouts against their fellow locals from "Dynamo" and "Khimik" (Dzerzhinsk).
Then there was a high-profile confrontation with "Ufa," in which Fankom was awarded a technical loss due to the participation of a disqualified player in the match.
The matches of the first round of the Path of the Regions are scheduled for July 29. The second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds will take place on August 12, August 26, September 9, October 15, and November 4, respectively, reports the RFU website.
