In the Kirov region, more than 100,000 self-employed individuals have been recorded for the first time.

      The Federal Tax Service for the Kirov Region has provided current statistics on self-employed individuals: the number of taxpayers under the professional income tax regime in the region has reached 101,991 people. This special tax regime has been in effect in the region since July 1, 2020, in accordance with regional law No. 364-ZO.

      The most popular types of activities that residents of Kirov indicate upon registration are repair and construction, the IT sector, trade in products of their own production, cargo and passenger transportation with vehicle servicing, as well as hairdressing and cosmetic services. These areas make up the core of the TOP-10.

      Tatiana Shustova, Deputy Head of the Department, emphasized that the entire process is organized remotely. For this purpose, the "My Tax" application has been developed — through it, one can register in two minutes without visiting the tax office. In addition, partner bank programs and the "Gosuslugi" portal also allow for status registration.

      The Federal Tax Service reminded about the clear boundaries for self-employed individuals. Hiring employees is prohibited, as well as providing services to a company where the self-employed person was previously employed — but only within two years after dismissal. The annual income cannot exceed 2.4 million rubles, while there are no monthly limits.

      The tax rate depends on the type of taxpayer: 4% is charged on income from individuals and 6% from legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. When receiving money from a client, an electronic receipt must be generated directly in the "My Tax" application, and there is no need to purchase a cash register. As Tatiana Shustova summarized, this application serves as accounting, a tax office, and a cash register for the self-employed.

      Members of the Public Council particularly emphasized during the discussion that the professional income tax regime is a particularly convenient tool for legalization, primarily for novice entrepreneurs and students.
