A drunk driver from Luza lost his Subaru worth 1.8 million.

      The prosecutor's office of the Luzsky district supported the charges in a criminal case initiated under part 1 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person with a criminal record or subjected to administrative punishment).

      In court, it was established that on January 17, 2026, a man was driving a Subaru car along Lenin Street in Luza with obvious signs of intoxication. He was stopped and removed from driving, but he refused medical examination.

      Upon inspection, it was revealed that the offender had already been held administratively responsible for a similar act. The court agreed with the prosecution's position and imposed a penalty in the form of a fine of 200,000 rubles and deprivation of the right to drive for two years.

      The man tried to keep the car — a few days before the incident, he transferred it to his daughter. However, in court, the state prosecution filed a petition for the confiscation of property based on article 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court granted it — the car was transferred to state ownership.
