The transport tax exemption for participants of the special military operation has been expanded, but the deputies promised to refine it.

At the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region, the deputies unanimously adopted a bill for the complete exemption from the transport tax for participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO) and veterans of combat actions. Previously, a 50% discount applied to this category.

The initiative belongs to deputies from "United Russia" — Alexander Ivanishin, Alexey Potapenko, Nikita Solomenikov, and Alexander Utkin. Governor Alexander Sokolov supported his colleagues, emphasizing that the region must do its utmost to assist the defenders of the Fatherland and their families.

During the discussion, the deputies noted the existing restrictions: the exemption applies only to one vehicle owned, and its power must not exceed 150 horsepower.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Budget, and Entrepreneurship Development Alexander Chilikin proposed to lift the power restriction and extend the exemption to vehicles with a higher horsepower. Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Roman Beresnev responded that the proposal would be taken into account and considered at the next meeting.
