June 17 was supposed to be an important day for residents of apartment buildings in the Kirov region. The agendas of the Kirov City Duma commission and the industrial committee of the Legislative Assembly included questions about the situation with capital repairs just yesterday. Any Kirov resident could watch the live broadcast – those who have been waiting for years for capital repairs. Kirov deputies from JUST RUSSIA have been sounding the alarm since 2024 – the Fund has been driven into a debt pit, and a multi-billion one at that.
Thus, four residents from different apartment buildings approached Kirov City Duma deputy Oleg Shvetsov – the repairs of their homes have been postponed for several years. He planned to understand their problems at the commission today. Colleagues from the Legislative Assembly – Konstantin Russkikh, Alexander Levanov, Vyacheslav Tsaryuk, Mikhail Kovyazin – have repeatedly raised the issue at committees and plenary sessions, but received no clear answers to their questions.
In April, the Kirov regional branch of the JUST RUSSIA Party submitted an official request regarding the state of the capital repair fund. The response, to put it mildly, surprised the party members: as of March 1, there were just over 20 million rubles in the Fund's accounts, while the homes in the Kirov region are planned to be repaired for 11 billion rubles. Additionally, the Fund must repay 1 billion rubles in loans this year, which were taken out to settle accounts with contractors for the facade repairs in honor of Kirov's anniversary in 2024. The plans and reality do not match at all.
“Today at the Legislative Assembly and Kirov Duma we wanted to raise these questions. However... in both cases, we were unable to discuss the pressing issue. The question was removed from the agenda of the City Duma due to the absence of the speaker. There was also no discussion at the Legislative Assembly committee,” reported Kirov Duma deputy from JUST RUSSIA Mikhail Tsaryuk.
