The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Committee on Ecology and Natural Resources of the Legislative Assembly of the Kirov Region. As reported by the Minister of Natural Resources Timur Abashev, 35 landfills of solid household waste were eliminated in 14 municipalities in 2025. 37 hectares of land have been cleared. This year, the elimination of five more landfills is planned in the Kilmese, Kirovo-Chepetsk, Orlovsky, Podosinovsky, and Falen municipal districts. In addition, in 2025, a project for the reclamation of a landfill in the Svecinsky municipal district was developed. The documentation is currently undergoing state ecological expertise. In 2026, the administration of the Orichevsky municipal district will begin developing a project for the reclamation of a landfill in the village of Mirny. For these purposes, 15.5 million rubles have been allocated from the regional budget for 2027, and the contract has already been signed.
