In the region, the Federal Law "On Probation in the Russian Federation" is in effect, which came into force on January 1, 2024. It provides a comprehensive set of support measures for convicted individuals, those who have served their sentences, as well as those in need of social adaptation after release.
The probation system includes assistance in restoring social ties, employment, obtaining housing, education, as well as providing medical, psychological, and legal support. Special attention is given to meeting the basic needs of people in difficult situations. Starting in 2025, applications to participate in the program can be submitted through the "Gosuslugi" portal.
As reported by the Novovyatsky intermunicipal branch of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov region, in the first half of 2026, support was provided to 19 individuals. The main types of assistance included providing seasonal clothing and organizing hot meals.
