In Russia, a new mandatory exam may be introduced in driving schools.
In Russian driving schools, a new mandatory exam may be introduced — on first aid skills in case of road traffic accidents. This is reported by "Gazeta.Ru".
It concerns an additional assessment of the knowledge of future drivers. As specified, the exam is planned to be introduced to improve the quality of driver training. At the same time, the process of taking the exam may be recorded on video.
According to government documents, the issue of first aid training will be handled by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, and regional authorities. A report on this initiative is to be prepared next year.
The idea of enhancing driver training in this area has been discussed before. Last autumn, it was stated in the State Duma of the Russian Federation that in a number of driving schools, first aid classes are either conducted formally or are completely absent.
According to the authors of the initiative, possessing such skills could help save up to 140,000–150,000 lives a year.
