Every fifth Russian is not ready to give up plastic dishes.
The job search service SuperJob conducted a survey among 1,600 economically active Russians and found that 81% of respondents are ready to give up using plastic dishes. Of these, 36% stated that they are definitely ready to do so, while another 45% are somewhat ready to switch to more environmentally friendly options. At the same time, compared to last year, the number of supporters of abandoning plastic has decreased by 3 percentage points. According to the results of the study, men and women have almost the same attitude towards this idea: 82% of men and 81% of women are ready to give up plastic. The highest environmental activity was shown by young people. Among Russians under 35, 87% of respondents are ready to give up plastic dishes. In the age group over 45, this figure is significantly lower at 75%. Meanwhile, 19% of survey participants stated that they are not yet ready to give up plastic. Of these, 4% are categorically opposed, while 15% chose the option "rather not ready." Among the reasons cited are the convenience of plastic dishes, the lack of a full-fledged alternative, and problems with waste recycling. Many respondents note that the country still does not have an effective plastic recycling system in place.
