For posts about UAVs, fines are now being imposed.
The Anti-Terrorism Commission of the Kirov Region previously imposed a ban on the publication of any information about drone attacks, their consequences, and crash sites, if this data allows for the identification of the territory, object, or nature of the damage. However, not all citizens comply with this requirement.
In April of this year, after a drone attack on Kirovo-Chepetsk, several residents of the region ignored the ban and began actively spreading information about the incident on social media. According to the data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, these messages contained knowingly false information of public significance, which was presented as credible. As a result, law enforcement noted that there was a threat to public safety, as well as a threat of interference with life support facilities, transportation, and social infrastructure.
In total, law enforcement officers identified 18 individuals who violated administrative legislation. Their materials have been submitted to the courts. So far, judicial decisions have already been made regarding nine citizens. They have been held accountable under part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of Freedom of Mass Information"). Four residents of Kirov have been fined 30,000 rubles, while five residents of the Kirov region have been fined 15,000 rubles each. The remaining cases are still under consideration.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes: the ban on the dissemination of such information is officially in effect, and its violation entails legal consequences regardless of the intentions of the person disseminating the information.
