Russians were advised not to say three words to scammers.
During a conversation with phone scammers, it is advisable not to say the words "yes," "I confirm," and "I agree." This was reported by Valentina Shilina, the head of the city online project "Call Back Yourself," to RIA Novosti.
According to the specialist, criminals can record conversations and use separate fragments of speech to create fake voice confirmations for various operations. In particular, this concerns financial transactions or other actions that require identity verification.
The expert noted that modern technologies allow scammers to combine individual words and phrases into new audio recordings. As a result, a person's ordinary response can be used in a different context.
To reduce the risk of fraud, the specialist recommends not engaging in lengthy conversations with unfamiliar interlocutors. If the caller claims to be an employee of a bank, agency, or other organization, it is better to end the conversation and contact the institution independently using the official phone number.
According to Shilina, an optimal response in such a situation could be the phrase: "I will call back myself," after which the conversation should be terminated.
