The roof of the house on Lenin has finally been closed.

Almost a year ago, repairs on the roof began at the house on Lenin Street, 6 — and got stuck. The contractor, who won the contract back in 2024, could not reach the finish line, citing delays in funding from the regional operator.

At the end of 2025, apartments from the fifth to the third floors were flooded — residents were saving themselves with basins and buckets. In winter, the film was reinforced, but snow still got into the attic. And in spring, when it began to melt, leaks resumed — now in the stairwell and apartments. Boards were stored in an emergency manner under the windows of the house — this was already a violation of fire safety regulations.

In April of this year, the situation reached a critical point: for almost nine months, the majority of the roof gaped under polyethylene film. The patience of the residents snapped when they realized that the upcoming rains could lead to the collapse of the attic ceilings.

People turned to the People's Front for help. Public activists sent a request to the prosecutor's office, demanding an investigation into the reasons for the funding delays and checking the legality of the actions of the Capital Repair Fund.

Today, June 7, it became known that a construction crew appeared at the site and completely closed the problematic roof in a month and a half, while also insulating the ends of the building, activists reported.
