Bastrikin became interested in water with impurities in the River.

The reason for this was reports in the media and social networks that residents of Komsomolskaya and Pervomayskaya streets have been receiving water unsuitable for drinking and household needs for a long time. According to local residents, various impurities are present in this vital communal resource. It is noted that citizens' appeals to the competent authorities did not lead to a resolution of the problem. In connection with this fact, investigators from the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov region have initiated a criminal case. Alexander Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the regional investigative department, Sultan Orazayev, to present a report on the preliminary and final results of the investigation, as well as on the measures being taken to restore the residents' rights to quality water supply. The execution of the instruction has been placed under control in the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
