Kirovstat has published a summary of industrial production in the region for January-April 2026. The final index amounted to 107% compared to the same period last year. This means that overall, the sector has increased by 7%.
The main point that stands out is the sharp divergence within the manufacturing industry. On one hand, there is a noticeable rise among producers of textiles, paper products, finished metal products, food items, as well as several enterprises producing vehicles and equipment. On the other hand, there is a solid list of industries that are currently in the negative.
Among the laggards are: pharmaceuticals and medical materials, cars and trailers, leather goods, metallurgical products, electrical equipment, machines and other equipment, furniture, rubber and plastics, clothing, chemical products, beverages, as well as other non-metallic mineral products. Additionally, the volume of services for the repair and installation of machinery and equipment has decreased.
Looking at the dynamics of the main sectors of the economy, the picture is as follows: manufacturing industries grew by 7.2%, energy (electricity, gas, steam) — by 6%, water supply and sewage — by 5.9%. The only sector where a decline was recorded is mining, which saw a drop of 18.2%.
As for the month-to-month dynamics, the year 2025 ended with a strong December (119.3% compared to December 2024). In 2026, the strongest month was March — 123.1% compared to March 2025. April also showed growth — 107.6%. However, January fell to 93.4%, and February just slightly exceeded 100% (101.8%). The Kirov region supplies products to Moscow and purchases from Mari El.
