In Kirov, a dog was rescued after being bitten by a viper.
On one of the May days in Kirov, a five-year-old dog named Nochka was bitten by a viper. The owner rushed over at the barking, but he couldn't drive the snake away in time — it had latched onto Nochka's face.
An hour after the bite, the dog was taken to one of the veterinary clinics. By that time, she had developed severe swelling of the chin and tongue, the latter had significantly enlarged and turned blue. Nochka could hardly swallow, and she exhibited fever, lethargy, and excessive salivation.
In the first few hours of treatment, her condition worsened, and the dog began to have difficulty breathing. As her tongue had swollen and become numb, she accidentally injured it with her teeth and claws.
Only the next day did her condition start to improve. However, the state of her tongue and the swallowing issues caused significant concern among the veterinarians. They had difficulty feeding and hydrating Nochka, and the situation was complicated by the fact that she was scared and did not trust strangers.
After three days in the day hospital, the dog gradually got used to the doctors and allowed all procedures to be performed. Seeing improvements, she was sent home to continue her treatment.
On the seventh day of treatment, the dog was eating with appetite, started barking, and her tongue returned to normal. "Victory!" — the delighted veterinarians wrote on their social media page.
