A Kirov resident wanted to go on a date but ended up losing 76 thousand rubles.
A man born in 1978 approached the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He reported that he started communicating with a new acquaintance on the internet. After a brief correspondence, the girl suggested meeting at the theater and sent a link to purchase tickets. The resident of Kirov clicked on the link and entered his bank card details. 4,800 rubles were deducted from his account, but he never received the tickets. After that, the man contacted the "support service" of the website, where he was informed that the transaction had allegedly been frozen, so the payment needed to be repeated. Meanwhile, the interlocutors assured him that the extra money would be refunded later. Believing the promises, the man transferred funds several times. When the total amount of transfers exceeded 76,000 rubles, he realized that he had become a victim of fraudsters. By that time, the girl had stopped communicating. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under part 2 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed with significant damage to a citizen"). The police are conducting an investigation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded residents of the region to carefully check websites before paying for goods and services, as well as not to click on suspicious links sent by acquaintances.
