Sokolov advocated for increasing the number of trash bins in apartments.
In an interview with the publication "Kommersant," the head of the region reported that the waste management complex project "Central" in the Slobodsky district has already passed state examination, and construction of the facility is ongoing. According to Sokolov, during the preparation of the project, its cost has increased, so the region needed additional support.
He also explained how the waste sorting system will work after the complex is launched. Waste is planned to be divided into paper, glass, metal, plastic, and food scraps. After that, each category will be sent for recycling or composting.
At the same time, Sokolov paid special attention to the topic of separate waste collection. In his opinion, for this, residents will have to seriously change their household habits.
— Everyone should have four bins in their kitchen instead of one — for plastic, food waste, and so on, — the governor stated.
Thus, an ordinary kitchen, apparently, should gradually turn into a compact sorting point. However, the governor did not clarify how to fit four trash bins in a typical Kirov apartment.
