Experts: Kirov Region is economically unhealthy
Experts from the "Expert RA" portal have compiled a ranking of Russian regions based on their level of economic health for the year 2025. Our region has been classified in sector 3B: the level of economic health is below average. In addition to our region, this category includes 17 other Russian regions, such as the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Mari El, Altai Krai, and the Republic of Dagestan. As explained on the portal, the calculations of the economic health of the regions were based on data from Rosstat, EMISS, the Central Bank, the "Electronic Budget" portal, and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
As for the dynamics of "recovery" or deterioration of the economic situation, currently, in the Kirov region, it is zero. It is noteworthy that in this group, our region is the only one that has not shown any improvement dynamics, even by 0.03%, unlike, for example, Buryatia or Saratov Oblast.
Expectations for 2026 regarding the Kirov region are also not positive: according to analysts' data, our region may also maintain an economic development level "below average" by the end of 2026.
