A Kirov resident sold someone else's car, believing that it had no owner.
A 45-year-old local resident approached the police department No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Kirov. She reported the disappearance of her VAZ-2115 car, which had been parked broken down near one of the houses on Truda Street. The day before, the woman discovered that the vehicle was missing.
Criminal investigation officers identified the suspected perpetrator. He turned out to be a 21-year-old young man. He was taken to the police department, where he provided his version of events.
According to the detainee, he noticed the domestic sedan and assumed that the car had no owner. After that, he found an advertisement for buying vehicles for parts and contacted the author. The buyer who arrived paid him and took the car.
An investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Kirov has initiated a criminal case against the suspect. The actions of the young man have been classified as theft causing significant damage to a citizen.
Police officers located the missing VAZ-2115, seized it, and returned it to its owner.
