Earlier, employees of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources conducted an inspection in Sovetsk, where residents complained about the pollution of the Pizhma River. Specialists took water samples and identified the fact of exceeding the concentration of pollutants. The total damage caused to the river amounted to about 2.5 million rubles. The agency sent a demand for compensation to the company "Volgo-Vyatskie Communal Systems," which inadequately treated the wastewater entering the river. However, the company did not comply, which led Rosprirodnadzor to file a lawsuit. The Arbitration Court of the Kirov Region fully satisfied the claim. The company filed an appeal, which was reviewed by the Second Arbitration Court of Appeal. As reported by the court's press service, it did not change anything. It is still unknown whether the parties will meet in cassation.
