The Prosecutor's Office of the Arbazhsky District conducted an inspection of compliance with traffic safety legislation. The attention of the supervisory authority was drawn to a 55-year-old local resident: he had a valid driver's license, but he was registered with a psychiatrist-narcologist.
The medical record indicated the presence of a medical condition related to a mental disorder against the background of alcohol dependence. This is a direct medical contraindication for operating any vehicles.
The prosecutor's office deemed that such a driver poses a threat on the road. Citizens with similar restrictions can potentially provoke traffic accidents, cause harm to the health of others or their death, and inflict property damage.
The supervisory authority filed an administrative lawsuit in court demanding to revoke the man's right to operate a vehicle. The court recognized the prosecutor's demands as lawful and justified — he was deprived of his driving rights.
As clarified by the Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region, the enforcement of the court decision remains under the control of the supervisory authority.
