Today, May 20, members of the Legislative Assembly committee reviewed a draft federal law amending the Federal Law "On the Fundamentals of Health Protection for Citizens in the Russian Federation." Its development was previously initiated by Governor Alexander Sokolov.
The document proposes to assign to the authorities of the Russian Federation the responsibility of providing patients with diabetes with continuous glucose monitoring systems. This applies to children under 18 years old, adults with type 1 diabetes, and pregnant women with any type of diabetes. The devices are proposed to be provided at the expense of the federal budget. An additional 7 billion rubles will be required for this.
The committee supported the initiative. It will be further considered at a plenary session of the Legislative Assembly.
