Simakova was criticized for insufficient support for business.
Today, May 19, at a meeting of the Duma commission, the results of the socio-economic development of Kirov for 2025 were discussed. Among other things, the report stated that there are 16.4 thousand organizations operating in the city, including 15 thousand private, and 684 state and municipal. Their total turnover amounted to 686.1 billion rubles (in 2024 it was 611.4 billion rubles). The volume of industrial production of medium and large enterprises reached 352.3 billion rubles (in 2024 it was 302.6 billion rubles). At the same time, only 79.5% of organizations made a profit last year, with 68% of them being organizations operating in the manufacturing sector.
After the report, deputy Vladimir Zhuravlev criticized the Kirov administration and its head Vyacheslav Simakov in particular for insufficient support of local enterprises. Simakov responded that money is needed to develop support programs, and there is none at the moment, but the authorities are doing what they can and are accommodating entrepreneurs.
The deputy noted that money is not always necessary. According to him, the authorities could, for example, negotiate with energy companies to reduce tariffs or even switch to another energy supply company, which would save millions of rubles on electricity. Simakov replied that this issue had been considered by the administration and they had done everything possible. Zhuravlev said that if he were the head of the administration, he would first address energy issues so that the city could save on electricity and heating. The deputy urged Simakov to "wake up" and "not just sit around," but to focus on the development of Kirov.
