Almost a quarter of working residents of Kirov have a side job.
In Kirov, almost every fourth working resident has a side job. According to a study by "SuperJob," 24% of Kirov residents have additional earnings. Another 53% of respondents admitted that they are not currently working extra but would like to find such an opportunity. 23% of those surveyed are not interested in additional employment.
Men take on side jobs slightly more often than women — 28% compared to 21%. The most active group seeking additional work is residents aged 25 to 35, among whom nearly every third (29%) has a side job. Among youth under 25, this figure is lower — 19%.
Notably, among Kirov residents earning over 150,000 rubles, 27% have additional earnings, while among those earning less, the figure is 21%.
Employees with hybrid schedules are the most likely to have side jobs — 39%. Among fully remote workers, 23% have additional earnings, while among those who go to the office daily, the figure is 21%.
Representatives of socially significant and financial professions are the most actively seeking side jobs. Thus, 39% of nurses, 37% of doctors, 32% of chief accountants, and 30% of teachers have additional employment. Marketers (29%), educators (27%), security guards (26%), and programmers (25%) also take on side jobs. The least likely to have additional work are salespeople and economists — 11% each, HR managers — 13%, and administrators and sales managers — 14% each.
The majority of Kirov residents spend less than 10 hours a week on side jobs — 70% fall into this category. Another 17% work an additional 10 to 20 hours a week, and 13% work more than 20 hours.
For many, additional employment becomes a significant part of their budget. For 38% of respondents, side jobs bring in 10 to 30% of their income, for one in five — 30 to 50%. Another 12% admitted that additional earnings account for more than half of their total income.
According to SuperJob, the number of job vacancies and resumes related to side jobs, part-time work, and freelance employment continues to grow in Russia. Experts attribute this, among other things, to the development of platform employment and services where temporary work can be quickly found without serious requirements for candidates.
