A Kirov resident had his "BMW" confiscated for drunk driving.

      According to the prosecutor's office of the Novovyatsky district, the man was found guilty under part 2 of article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person who already has a criminal record for a similar offense.

      The court established that on February 8 of this year, a resident of Kirov, while intoxicated, was driving a "BMW" on the streets of the Novovyatsky district. The violator was stopped by police officers and removed from driving the vehicle.

      It turned out that the man had previously been prosecuted for drunk driving. The court sentenced him to 10 months of restriction of freedom and deprived him of the right to drive for three years.

      In addition, at the request of the state prosecutor, the violator's vehicle was confiscated and transferred to state ownership.
