Migrants with Russian passports were checked at the Central Market.
On May 14, 2026, another interdepartmental inspection of compliance with migration legislation took place at the Central Market of Kirov. According to the law, men of conscription age who have obtained Russian citizenship are required to register for military service. This must be done within two weeks from the moment of taking the oath — even before receiving a passport. However, as practice shows, many do not comply with this requirement. Such raids are conducted across the country. Markets, warehouses, retail outlets, and construction sites are checked — places where former migrants who have obtained a Russian passport work. With citizenship, they acquire not only rights but also obligations. During the inspection, it was found that citizens who previously violated migration legislation are now registered for military service at the military commissariats of Kirov. The agency added that this year alone, dozens of violators have been identified in the region. They have been registered, held administratively accountable, and their migration status has been brought into compliance with the law.
