The Tretyakov Gallery will showcase seven paintings by Alexei Isupov from Kirov.
In Moscow, preparations are underway for the opening of an exhibition dedicated to still life and landscape from the late 19th to early 20th century. The organizers call the flower the main character of the artistic narrative of this period. The exhibition, which starts on May 21 at the Tretyakov Gallery, features around 150 works.
Alongside the names of Konstantin Korovin, Isaac Levitan, Mikhail Vrubel, Valentin Serov, and Alexander Golovin, the exhibition includes works by lesser-known but vibrant authors such as Mikhail Shemyakin, Nikolai Meshcherin, and Alexei Isupov.
It is Isupov who has drawn attention in the Kirov region. The Vyatka Art Museum has provided seven of his paintings from its collection: "Portrait of a Wife with a Basket of Flowers" (late 1920s), "Still Life with Buttercups" (1918), "Female Portrait. In the Garden" (1940), "Still Life with Lemons" (1946), "Woman with a Tray" (1942), "Still Life" (1947), "Self-Portrait in a Straw Hat" (1942).
