Residents of Kirov are urged to slaughter hens and roosters.
The Veterinary Management of the Kirov Region has announced the start of vaccination for domestic birds against highly pathogenic avian influenza (strains H5N1 and others).
Owners of private farms should know: the virus is highly contagious. The disease often progresses rapidly and leads to the death of birds. It is carried by wild migratory birds. Some strains pose a threat to humans as well.
Where to get vaccinated?
Vaccination is carried out free of charge at state veterinary service institutions. To do this, you need to contact the nearest district or inter-district animal disease control station. Addresses and phone numbers of Kirov regional state veterinary institutions are published on the veterinary management website.
The agency emphasizes: vaccination is a mandatory preventive measure aimed at ensuring the epizootic welfare of the region.
