Sokolov announced a reprimand to Gornostaeva.

      At a government meeting, Governor Alexander Sokolov reported that residents of Peskovka in the Omutninsky district are complaining about the new amount of subsidy for utility payments, which is half of the previous amount. He asked for a report on this from Maxim Gornostayev, the Minister of Energy and Housing and Utilities of the Kirov region.

      Gornostayev noted that starting from January 1, 2026, a regional standard for calculating subsidies for utility payments has been introduced in the region. However, the ministry did not foresee that such a situation would arise, where some residents would lose a significant part of their subsidy. In this regard, a new decree was issued that cancels this standard and returns everything to how it was. Within ten days, people will receive the money they were owed.

      Sokolov reprimanded the minister harshly. According to him, he had instructed that the situation of the people should not worsen, but the ministry failed to manage this. As a result, tension arose in several localities. "You made it so that people pay less, but it should have been about making things better for them," Sokolov said. He issued a public reprimand to Gornostayev and instructed him to think primarily about the people in the future. "No decree from the authorities should worsen the situation of the people," the head of the region added.
