"Dynamo" has unlearned to lose.
Today, May 19, in the latest round of the Russian football championship in the 2nd league, Kirov's "Dynamo" faced the St. Petersburg "Zenit" reserve team at home. An impressive contingent of fans, numbering around a hundred, arrived from the city on the Neva. The guests surpassed the local "opponents" not only in numbers but also in skill – instead of the tired, clichéd chants, they sang more appropriate songs from the war years, earning applause from the audience. However, this only pertains to the stands. On the field, the Kirov team was head and shoulders above the rest. By halftime, they were leading 3-0. The scoring was opened by Andrey Malykh – one of the very few homegrown players in the current "Dynamo" squad. Then, the St. Petersburg defense began to falter, conceding one attack after another. The "Zenit" goalkeeper was also not performing well. When "Dynamo" made it 4-0 in the 47th minute, the outcome of the match became clear. The game turned into a dull passing of the ball, and the bored audience began to leave the stands long before the end of the match. The remaining spectators at the end saw an impressive long-range shot from "Zenit" – 4-1. "Dynamo's" unbeaten streak reached seven matches. In the next round, our team will play in Perm against the local "Amkar."
